Upside Down

Once in a while my kids leave me one of these surprises…truck in the fridge or car in the toaster and they usually make me smile. This time it was bittersweet  because this is kinda how the week ended for me-in a roll over crash, figuratively speaking. A combination of too much construction, busyness in general and no time carved for myself sent me in a downward spiral of grumpiness and irritability. Not pretty, not pretty at all.

Sooo, there was a much needed date night thanks to my mother-in-law who watched the kiddos and down time away from nail guns and saws. I realized I have to be better about “me” time because it really serves no one any good when I’m overwhelmed and short tempered.

Here’s to a better week! Cheers!
